Daily Self Care

we know to prioritize it, but honestly, the typical spa day, weekend away, girls night out, or even a quiet night in, are not feasible as regular forms of self care for many of us

Sometimes it’s not possible to get a babysitter AND spend the extra money on a getaway or a weekly massage  some of us don’t have grandma for support or a sister close by. Perhaps your spouse works long hours or has a job that keeps them away, so most days you’re lucky to get any time alone, whatever…
there are so many reasons why mamas don’t get a chance to recharge and do things that fill their cup

If this is you, here are some things I’ve realized:
the things we do every day -even moment to moment- to take care of ourselves matter most
you can have a weekend (or afternoon) away and feel great, and then immediately start to feel overwhelmed the minute you walk back into the house
waking up early to have quiet time by yourself can do wonders for your sanity (and daily flow/productivity)
letting go of perfectionism and focusing on what really matters does way more for your family than running yourself ragged to make sure the dinner/house/party/experience/sports/trip is perfect
weekly soaks in the tub and going on daily walks are both free and totally worth it
eating regular, healthy meals changes everything -hangry much?

So, what about the moment to moment stuff? I’ve been reaching for dōTERRA Adaptiv (some days a lot) when I feel overwhelmed and like I can’t take anymore momlife. It has really helped me avoid the mommy meltdown, and it has helped my girls come out of their tantrums too

I just grab my bottle and smell it for a quick fix
This does two things; forces me to just breathe for a sec, and brings me back to the moment.

When you inhale essential oils, there is a direct effect on the limbic system in your brain. And ultimately, it tells your whole body to relax.

the Adaptiv blend was formulated specifically for moments like this. Try diffusing it in the house for a sustained effect
