Want to cut down on chemicals in your home? These DIYs are so easy to do and they are SO cheap compared to the stuff you get at the store! Not to mention, the cleaning sprays at the store (even the ones masquerading as "natural") are making your home SO toxic! And if you have little ones and/or pets running around your house, it is even worse for them.
Pets and children are touching the floor more (everything you spray in the air settles down on the floor, including the chemicals that are in plug-in type air fresheners) so they are getting more chemicals into their bloodstream through their feet, hands, and mouth (or paws). Little ones and pets get burdened by toxins more easily because their organs are smaller and therefore cannot filter and eliminate them as efficiently as an adult.
Most of these DIYs only have like 3 ingredients, and it's stuff you probably already have at home. I get baking soda, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol in bulk from Costco, it's def the best value! Mix with water and your favorite essential oils and, you're set to go! I always keep Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint on hand because they are the best for keeping the house clean and smelling great. Also try Purify, Abode, Grapefruit and Tea Tree.
